Weight Loss Tips

There are all kinds of healthy weight lose tips. All one really needs to do is just go online and do a Google search. Anytime you start a weight loss program, you are ecommended to  keep a food diary of what you eat, the calories and amount ½ cup, 1 cup, etc. But also how you felt, our emotions have a lot to do with what we eat and when we eat. Weight loss is a complicated project. What we eat, when we eat, what we think and feel, our relationship with food and even where we eat.

But there is a lot of research and help available for everyone working at weight loss. As to keeping a diary which is really helpful, a study showed that the problem was most women did not keep an accurate diary, usually consuming over 1000 calories more than recorded. Who do we think we are kidding? I always think of the old saying, a moment on the lips is forever on the hips. Cheating on my food journal is only kidding me. My success depends on being honest with myself, yours does too.

One thing that helps is to have some snacks handy really helps. I keep a small box in the car with protein bars, water bottle or diet drink. That helps me to skip that stop and the big double arches or some other fast food place where a gut bomb is calling.

I like to keep a container with vegetables cut up and a nice dip for them. I have always got fresh fruit as well. But life is not all vegetables and fresh fruit. Weight loss needs some taste and nutrition. Anyone could think of a milkshake as a nice cold sweet but ice cream is the kiss of death with weight loss as ice cream packs lots of fats and calories quickly. But have you ever made one with yogurt, some 2 percent milk and fresh fruit or even sugar free chocolate. The yogurt is really good for your health as well.

Many people struggle with portion control. Most people eat off of plates that are closer to platters than plates. The bigger the plate the apt you are to over portion what you are eating. Use a small plate and when you fill it up it makes you feel like you are eating much more, the amount of foods could be the same but your emotional self will feel full with a smaller plate or small bowl. I bought a small set of dishes and bowls. They are really small but I do not feel deprived at all, I enjoy keeping my losing weight plan working.

Also serve from the stove and not from the table, It is just too easy to reach for that second or third helping when it is sitting right in front of you. By the way, when you do have seconds try to make it vegetables and not starches you reach for. Make meat a part of a side dish, not the main part of the meal. These tips will help with your success with weight loss. Remember, some common sense and it is all about balance in ones life. It will take time to get back in shape in you have not been active for a few years.
